Frequently Asked Questions
The standard Maryland 12-Hour Alcohol Education Program consists of six weekly sessions, with each session lasting two hours.
An assessment is generally required to determine whether the 12-hour education program is appropriate or whether additional treatment services may be indicated. A qualifying recent assessment may satisfy this requirement.
The total program cost is $500, which includes a $150 initial assessment and $350 for the 12-hour alcohol education program.
The program primarily serves individuals referred following alcohol-related driving offenses, but individuals interested in alcohol education may contact MHI to discuss available services and eligibility.
If an assessment identifies a need for additional substance use or behavioral health treatment, MHI can help coordinate appropriate services or referrals.
Participants who successfully complete the program will receive applicable completion documentation. Acceptance by a court, the MVA, or another referring authority depends on the program’s authorization and that authority’s requirements.
Please contact MHI to confirm current class formats and whether remote participation is available and permitted for your referral.
Contact Mazwi Holistic Institute to discuss your referral, schedule an initial assessment, and receive enrollment instructions.
